Our much-loved Annual Duck Race is back, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone for a fun day by the river. This is one of our favourite community traditions, expect laughter, friendly competition, and plenty to enjoy for all ages. Join us on Sunday the 14th of June from 12pm for a full day of family fun by the river. Expect duck races, games, great food, cold drinks, and all the summer vibes. How it works Numbered ducks are released into the water and race their way downstream. Cheer yours on and see if it crosses the finish line first, there are prizes up for grabs for the winners. On the day you can enjoy: • A great atmosphere on the riverside • Children’s activities and family fun • Food and drinks available from the pub • Raffles and spot prizes throughout the event Bring friends, family, and your best cheering voice, and don’t forget to pick your duck early as numbers are limited. Our 3m x 2m LED screen will be under the canopy, ready for all the drama, VAR controversies, and inevitable debates about England's tactics. Meet at the pub from 9.30am, everyone’s welcome: dogs, friends, families. Grab a coffee to go and pick up some doggy snacks before we set off. Bring wellies. Outdoor Theatre at Barton’s Mill Join us on Friday 21st August 2026 at 3pm as we welcome Quantum Theatre back to our beautiful riverside garden for a magical summer performance on our private patio by the water. This year brings a charming new adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s beloved tales – The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny. The mischievous cousins just can’t resist Mr McGregor’s garden… but their adventure soon turns into a a series of scrapes, surprises and narrow escapes! Will Old Mr Bunny come to the rescue? And what will Mr McGregor make of those mysterious footprints in his flower beds? Bring the whole family and settle in for a wonderful afternoon of outdoor theatre, storytelling and fun in a stunning riverside setting. Feel free to bring your own chair or blanket, or relax on one of the chairs we’ll have available.
